Hi All,
I'm setting up my 7th MultiWii copter, so I'm not exactly a novice with MW, and I'm having an issue that I haven't seen before. The copter is yo-yo'ing up and down as soon as it takes off in ACRO mode...No sensors or flight modes active. I tried raising and lowering the PID's, but had no effect.
350 size quad
HK MW Pro w/MTK 3329 (GPS not installed yet) Official MW2.3 with standard settings defined
Afro 20 SimonK ESC's
Orange T6 Tx
I thought it might be a faulty board, so I flashed another one with the same sketch, and got the same exact problem. This leads me to believe that the yo-yo'ing is caused by a MW setting, or another component in the set up.
If anyone has any ideas, please share them.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Yo-Yo copter
Ground effect? Some MR's are more sensitive to this than others.
Vibrations? can cause all sorts of weird issues.

Re: Yo-Yo copter
Hi waltr,
Thanks for your response.
Not ground effect...I went about 10 feet up and the yo-yo'ing was consistent. Possibly vibrations. I haven't balanced the props. I'm going to try the quad with a KK board.
Regards.

Re: Yo-Yo copter
Try enabling a lower frequency Gryo filter in the MW code. If the yo-yo effect decreases then it is vibrations and these must be fixed.
