help with pid tuning..

Post by cramps »

Hello,
I tried today the multiwii code and i have some problems..
Im using the following sensors ITG3200, bma180, HMC5843 and a BM080.
With the default values my quad was very unstable. I came up with P: 15, I: 0.050 and D: 50 (wich is the maximum value) and the quad is still unstable but without overshooting.. Im getting small oscillations with a P >15.
The same thing in the level mode. Ive set P to 20 (the maximum value again) and the quad is unstable again and wobbling around..

You can try to balance your props, I have had this problem with my mini quad using small out runner motors, it works fine with 2S lipo as power source, but as I change battery to 3S, with same PID, it became vibrating, and unstable to control.

I mean that its not stiff in the air, just like when you have a very small P and the quad is woobling around all the time

You can always try to change your LPF value in config
