interesting behavior

Post by jy0933 »

it is not causing problem..(yet) But will be helpful if anyone can help figuring out why it is like this

board, mega2560 loaded with latest dev

config.h side
minthrottle 1095
maxthrottle 1905
mincommand 1000

tx side
minthrottle 1095 (ish)
maxthrottle 1900

esc side
simonk fw and manually set 1095-1905

what happens:

after arm the board, one of the motor spins up while the other 3 stays
the fc was in acro mode, and all output channels are shown 1095

if i connect all 4 escs to rx directly.. they spins up at the same time and stall at minthrottle

currently temp solution is setting minthrottle to 1090 (below esc calibrated 1095) so it wont spin up at arm.....

just trying to figure out what is going here.. since it will be dangerous sometimes that one spins up (my usual set up is all motor stall@1095)

Maybe you misunderstood the instructions:
MINTHROTTLE in the config.h is to be set high enough to make all motors spin up reliably when armed.

Minimum THROTTLE channel of the radio should read around 1000 in the GUI. Set min/max and D/R in your radio to obtain that.

they are supposed to spin up at arm unless you check the configuration motor_stop (I think) at which point they wont spin up at min throttle.

arming them like this is a safety call, so you know when the bird is dangerous, and to make sure all is operational before you try to put her in the air.

once you have it powering up properly, make sure you pick it up, holding it firmly, give it a little throttle and wiggle it to make sure its properly resisting change, or you may end up with a bird that likes to flip over instantly due to something simple like IMU orientaton or misplaced motor control wire. (or more embarrassing, props spinning the wrong direction)
