Hi,
iv noticed after some flights, i plug in a new battery and the MAG has gone nuts and needs recalibrating again.
It happened yesterday and today.
I checked the GUI when it wasnt flying right with MAG hold enabled and the compass was all over the place.
After a calibration everything is fine. The quad sits in the back of the car then on my desk at home. Its not near any magnets etc.
Do i have a bad board?
Or do others have the same problem?
Thanks
Dean
Mag needs calibrating every day
Re: Mag needs calibrating every day
Do eeprom_clear with Arduino software, then reflash board with FW and try again.

Do you have I2C errors or maybe your eeprom is corrupted or not working?

Re: Mag needs calibrating every day
you can check if there are I2C errors on MWII Gui when quad is connected over USB...there is a counter.

howdy,
i checked that, number stays at 0.
Some more information. I hooked up a minimOSD and noticed during the 3rd flight (Usually the mag begins to seem like its totally gone by that point during a normal days flying) the gps/navigation information displayed on the OSD kept flashing and disappearing for varied periods of time. I think its clear theres something wrong with this board. Only a couple months old and no crashes. SHIT!!! really annoyed. So iv brought another new one. Will see if its plug and play with the current tuned settings and what happens. Possibility its the GPS unit, however considering i have to calibrate the compass everytime, im more inclined to say its that. Especially as navigation and location based information relies on the compass.
I will report back when i get the new one installed.

Did you set your magnetic declination accordingly to your location?
