hover drift and I term

Post by jy0933 »

it's been a while I try to figure out why when I set throttle to hover point.. the quad still bounce up and down randomly..

then I finally came across this today (blame myself didnt read carefully enough ... and also maybe cuz english is my 2nd language.. still not good enough)

For Aerobatic flying
Increase value for P until oscillations start, then back of slightly
Change value for I until hover drift is unacceptable, then increase slightly
Increase value for D until recovery from dramatic control changes results in unacceptable recovery oscillations
P may now have to be reduced slightly

I assume the hover drift stated here is the bounce problem I have in tuning..

one quick Q regarding this..... it is said to use a higher I for stable/smooth/fpv fly... how high should it be.. my current config is P=6.7 I=0.05 D=32... isnt there should be a upper limit for I to prevent tragedy?

thx

I-term is heading hold. So when you move your sticks quad stays in that position and doesn't align himself. If you put I almost to zero, then quad aligns.

so the hover drift is not the bouncing up and down when trying to put it into hover?

I think you have too much vibrations.
