that lcd has a parallel interface, you need one with a 5v serial interface, like this one:

If you are skilled in programming an AVR or PIC and if you know how to solder/wire these components on a board, you can make an serial_to_parallel-LCD conversion. Maybe you can find some DIY projects in the web.

Otherwise it's recommended to buy a ready to use serial LCD.

latest situation is i bought a serial lcd from ebay

ive wired it up on four wires 5v tx rx gnd all that happens is lcd lightes up and says (press cr)The CR means carriage return or the enter key on the keyboard. Pressing <enter> will
clear the display and produce a ‘*’ on the terminal i can make the lcd work through my computer easily when i download b-com software, so im wondering if i need some software imput for multiwii 1.7 i really didnt want to buy another lcd thatll be three

Hi,

i don´t think that this display is working with multiwii. The Multiwii code requieres a sparkfun serial lcd. The commands between the sparkfun lcd and yours are different. You can try to edit the multiwii Code, to get the lcd working with the commands of your display ( Look at datasheet ).
