Possible to connect GPS over BT?

Post by wobbletop »

I have the HK multiwii 328P along with a BT dongle. I've been able to connect my android phone to it with Multiwii EZ-GUI.

I also have one of these... http://www.semsons.com/ib737blgps32.html

It's a BT GPS "mouse".

Is it possible for the multiwii to communicate with the BT mouse to get gps coordinates? I thought I'd ask since I have all these things around.

Thanks

Most by units is slaves and can only be connected to a master unit ex phone or pc.
Some by dongels ca be configured as master.

So answer is both yes and no...

It should be possible but probably you can't use it for position hold etc. Because as I assume this gps has 1Hz refresh rate so it is to slow.
To connect bluetooth module to your gps you have to change the mode to host mode in the gps module and use some AT commands to pair it with external gps.

It's a 5hz GPS. I don't think the BT mouse can be switched to host mode though. Can the BT dongle be a host?

This is the BT dongle...
