LCD Advice needed Please

Post by rocketray »

Hiya, :D

My next stage is to learn to be able to adjust my multiwii's at the flying site using a LCD. What i need is advice on which lcd to get, I was thinking of the Textstar, but it is quite expensive, are there any other alternatives that work and can be recommended. Please bear in mind that i am not looking for anything that needs too much modding as anything more than the level of Jussi's shield and i am out of my depth. and which colour is easiest to see in daylight?
I know this isnt a big deal but i only want to buy once so any advice would be welcome.

And while im here,Thank you Alex for making all this possible for the normal guy and not just the geeks, I am now flying machines that were only possible in science fiction when i started out.

All the Best
Ray ;)

with small arduinos like nano, pro mini you need LCD with serial interface.
display size should be 16x2 for compatibility with existing code.
It should be able to run at 9600N1 baud - probably all devices can do that.
If you do not get the TEXTSTAR nor the LCD Alex has started with, then you need a datasheet for the special config sequences (like clear screen).

Colour and backligt to suit your taste.
