Pitch & Roll

Post by refractions »

Hi all,

Well, got my new frame and my quad is now weighing in around 780g.

Just doing all the standard checks and setting up my pan and tilt camera mount.

While setting this up I noticed when I either roll or pitch the frame - the roll and pitch values move in wiiconf - as they should, but i`ve just noticed that even if I keep the frame with the same amount of roll or pitch- the values slowly move back to level. This is the first time i`ve noticed this - is it correct?

Currently using v2.0 of software.

Many thanks

Iain

Bit more on this one.

Tried V1.9 and the roll and pitch indicators are stable. Checked i`m using the same settings in V2, but still going back to level.

you have gyro+acc? then orientation of sensors is wrong. Read FAQ how to configure.

Cheers Hamburger.

I will take a look, but i`m running a Paris V4 board and it has the orientation of the WM+ silkscreened onto the board.

I am running the following sensors.

WM+
BMA180
BMP085
HMC5883L

Many thanks again.

WM+ is printed on the board but it could be the BMA180 that is reversed (mounted upside down)

if it is correct you might need to clear eeprom as it helped with my issue with gimbal (even tho I have genuine sensors)

Iain,

irrelevant.
Sensor orientation interpretation changed in code between v1.9 and v2.0.
Check the sensor config as described in faq, it will cure that symptom. I've had and done the same.

Many thanks again.

Many thanks for all the replies. Turns out my BMA180 needed rotated 90 degrees - working fine again.

Cheers
