Hello!
I'm looking at connection diagrams from Berkley and I'm wondering why ProMini power should go to RAW and not directly to VCC (since I and probably most of us are using ESC with 5V regulated output)?

Re: VCC or RAW on ProMini
The RAW input goes to the input of the PROMINI's internal 5V low dropout VReg. This is the recommended Power input for the CPU board. Even with the internal 5V VReg, it is still compatible with a 5V external supply. If you connect to the PROMINI's Vcc pin you will be applying external voltage to the output of the VReg IC, which is sometimes considered unsafe practice.

Re: VCC or RAW on ProMini
perhaps one small change from the published wiring diagram is to:
- connect esc vcc supply to RAW, but
- connect rx vcc to VCC (instead of RAW)
in this way, you could still use the ftdi cable to power the amp and rx to test them without having to plug in a lipo to the esc.
