Connect I2C_GPS_NAV to MicroWii ATmega32U4 Flight Controller

Post by QuadBow »

Hi experts,

I got a MicroWii ATmega32U4 Flight Controller https://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__22321__MultiWii_MicroWii_ATmega32U4_Flight_Controller_USB_BARO_ACC_MAG.html and have some questions since the documentation of HK is erally poor.

1. How to connect the GPS via an I2C_GPS_NAV module?
I need the UART for telemetry, so I ahve to connect teh gps module via I2C_GPS_NAV.
Unfortunately, the FC's i2c supports only 3,3V, whereas the I2C_GPS_NAV requires only 5V.
Do I need an additional level shifter or has someone found another solution?

2. I noticed that all motor and servo output connectors break out the 5V line.
Am I right that only the signal line of the ESC has to be connected to the board in order to avoid that the BECs of the ESCs "fight" against the board's BEC?

Thanks in advance for your replies.
