back motors spinning faster; drone flips over

Post by fauslyfox110 »

I'm working on a quadcopter, specifically this one: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=7344

I was having trouble arming it before, and now after setting my endpoints as suggested I am able to arm it with the yaw without issue making mincommand 1000 and maxthrottle 2000.

However what I have noticed during my recent flight tests, is that the back motors are spinning faster, making the drone flip over as the back is elevated fast than the front. I've calibrated the ESC's individually by connecting to the receiver, setting to max throttle and upon the first beep setting the throttle on the transmitter down and waiting for the confirmation. Now Both escs beep at the same time when turned on, and idle when armed perfectly. Acc and Mag have been calibrated as well.

The issue appears to be the different in motor speed which I assumed would disappear after proper calibration. I've double checked that the propellers are on properly and the spinning is correct as well. Below is a video showing my multiwii config settings and and span of the throttle when armed. What newbie mistakes am I making here? Appreciate the help:

Also my endpoints on the TURNIGY 9X2 i am using (MODE 2, FM-PPM, HELI)

AIL 120:120
ELE 120:120
THR 120:120
RUDD 120:120
all else is 100

From a short look at the video I notices that your TX is not properly centered.
Roll, pitch and yaw should be as close to 1500 as you can get.

Fixed them to get them as close as I can to 1500. Still no luck. Even switched to Acro as I've read it's a bit simpler, and still nothing. Here's a new video showing the tendency for it to lift higher on one side first:

you can skip to second 12.

Thought it would help to log the details of the micro-controller. I'm using bluetooth via ezgui below are videos for graphs and the motors:

Thanks for the help guys
