12A ESC Turnigy Plush

Post by jevermeister »

Hi,
I flew 25A ESC from HK ss and Turnigy then I built a new quad and recently switchen from HK SS 18A to Hobbywing Pentium 18A.

A friend of mine built a quad using Turnigy Plush 12A ESC.

We both use EMAX CF2822 Motors and both fly MW QuadX
His quad is very light an mine is around 1kg with FPV cam.

I was very impressed with the agility of his quad, would these ESCs fit into my quad or will I have problems with speed?

I like the 12A ESCs because they are veeery small, I could put them below my pylons without beeing seen.

What do you think?

i use 10A esc for my 1kg quad , but i guess this is motor dependent .. CF2822 can pull 16A on 3S ..

Most of the time you only use 3 or 4 amps for one ESC.
Only when you give full throttle whit the max size prop, you reach the 16 amp of your motor and this is most of the time not such a long time.

When you are not gonna lift heavy things I think its no problem.
Even Warthox uses small ESC's on some of his setups.

Hi,

as I wrote I am pretty satisfied with those ESC but a problem occurs:
After some minutes of flight I noticed that the front right motor sometimes twichtes and looses throttle for a split second.

When starting the engines the same motor does this:

I use Turnigy Plush 12A, CF2822 Motors with 10" Props and MW2.0

Minthrottle is 1300

Whats wrong here?

I have had stutter of front right motors at startup on 3 TRIs with different escs.
Maybe it is something else.

Hi,
I connected the esc and motor combi to another channel. still the same.
All esc are programmed the same.
I will calibrate the throttle again tomorrow.
Thank u for your answer mate.

What do you mean by stayed the same?
Always front right or always that specific motor+esc combo?

Sorry. always the same esc motor combi showing the same behavior. regardless on which channel.
I programmed them with a programming card in a hurry yesterday and did not calibrate thorrtle.
Might this be the problem?
