Good Day,
I have (with no shortage of help from this forum) gotten to what I thought was a pretty knowledgeable level but now I am humbled, yet again. I programmed my ESCs and tested each one after doing so (through the throttle port on my r/c receiver). I have set my transmitter travel points so that my range is <1000 to >2000 (ie 998 to 2002) for all controls. My MultiWii_2_1 GUI reads my transmitter signals and displays the results. Heck, I've even got 8 satellites indoors! My motors are the issue. I have separated the red BEC wires and I am running the motors off of a large battery and the control boards off of USB power. Once I power up the motors, they all sing doe-ray-me, cheap three times for my 3-cell LiPo battery and give a final long "OK" beep. From this point on, I can not start/arm them. I have configured for a quad X so I am using D3, D9, D10, and D11.
Does anyone have a take on this? I have the following specific questions to all of you prognosticating techno-wizards out there.
1) Why can't I arm my motors, even though the GUI shows my transmitter is within range and my ESCs are calibrated? The GUI faithfully replicates my transmitter so the FC board must be receiving and passing through the data.
2) Why have I decided to pour buckets of money into a hobby in which I have little, or no, idea of what I am doing?
OK - that last question WAS rhetorical, but you get the point. I am feeling frustrated and self-effacing because the answer is, as always, simple and (after the fact) perfectly obvious.
Thanks to all - Baran DDA Mr Drone
