New to MultiWii... Hello! and Frame advice

Post by hunter_heli »

Hello MultiWii

Just this moment joined the forum, I am a professional photographer by trade and have spent the last 6 months building and learning to fly my aerial photo system (Vulcan 'Mantis', Dji WKM, T-Motor MN4014, Optpower, Spektrum, Cinestar, Radian, Canon EOS 5D MKIII).
Have been learning single rotor CP hellis for 18 months now (Trex 450, 550 & 600e), and now getting into quad's and FPV eventually.
Building a 'scout' for my AP work, and have ordered the WiteSpy MultiWii Pro EZ3 with Compass. OLED, ring light, telemetery and the Witespy 30A SimonK ESC's. Ipower Multimate 2217 930kv motors and will probably go 4s power (Gensace). I have bought a HK 'Deadcat' frame, and looking at my flying partners TBS disco (DJI arms) its probably useful as an ornament! I am looking for a test bed just to get the FC board and motors running.
In the future I'm looking for a decent FPV frame something like a QAV550 or a Flip FPV. Not really interested in a TBS Disco, just wanted to say HI and any advice on a frame and a 'duffers' guide to MultiWii setup?

Great forum BTW

Hello and welcome :)
My situation is very similar to you with the exception of a 2 month headstart on my favor.
I have started with a tbs clone. Which was not bad at all..There are lots of deadcats out there which flies like a dream ..
There are lots and lots of very innovative frames out there..
This one is interesting FPV

For big guys i like tarot series like this

About Multiwii, all i can say is she is not gonna throw her self in to your arms and do what you want her to do.
But when you understand her ways, amazing!!! I have a DJI setup also, with brushless gimbals and clover antennas and fancy satellite receivers and all that stuff.
It flies like a rock. But there is nothing like flying crazy with my cheap and fearless multiwii :)

Anyway..Good luck :)
