Re: Advantages of Simon K ESC over standard

So main benefit would be for stunt flying. For general flying & FPV the stock standard ESCs would probably do a reasonable job. What inbuilt program settings of a standard ESC such as my Hobbypower 30A do you suggest to get the best performance for multirotor application? I have seen some SimonK...

Re: roll and yaw values

Check your connections to flight controller from RX. If correct then check channel assignments for the new model you created in TX. You will see this repeated, but essential that you set PWM range from 1000 to 2000 & trim for 1500 at neutral stick. If you don't you will have problems arming &...

Re: Advantages of Simon K ESC over standard

Hi Walrt, I did prior to this post & got some conflicting advice NOTE (SimonK): Before you buy these, you should make yourself familiar with the somewhat experimental nature of the SimonK firmware. This software pushes the motor response to the limit, so there may be motor and prop combinations ...

Hi Tovrin, I also built a quad using X525. Did yours come with MWC 2.5 clone of Crius SE V2.5? I did my maiden flight with standard settings & it performed extremely well. I didn't even have to trim TX as I'd already set up in GUI with 1000-2000 with 1500 mid for all functions on TX before even ...

Re: Low voltage warning using Crius SE & LED strip

Hi Quadbow, Thanks for the info on flashing LED strips with battery alarm & 32 bit FCs. I think I will go for the Atmega 2560 as easier to program & use with GUI from what you say. I didn't get a chance to try code till last night when I went thru every line of Config.H V2.3 & could not ...

Advantages of Simon K ESC over standard

I have been reading a lot about Simon K flashed ESCs & see that you can either do it yourself with some ESCs or buy them already flashed.
Can someone explain what are the advantages for quad use compared to stock ESCs such a the Hobbypower 30A which came with my X525 quad kit?

Cheers...B

Failsafe not functioning with DSM2 receiver

Now I have my X525 quad hovering & flying pretty stabile I decided to try the Failsafe which is active by default in V2.3. I have Spektrum TX7 TX & Lemon 8 channel RX. I had quad hovering at several metres & turned off TX. Quad dropped very fast but not damaged due to spring loaded legs....

I have quad with 4x Hobbypower ESC-30 ESCs. Do I use 100HZ or 400HZ in V2.3 Config.H?
I am currently running on 100HZ which is the default.

Re: UBlox Neo-6m accuracy with MWC SE V2.5

Hi Quadbow, My board is an exact copy of Crius SE v2.5. It has 2 dedicated I2C ports with 5V, a UART serial port (TX,RX, +5 , Gnd) as well as an FTDI port (which appears to be a true serial port (RX, TX, DTR, CTS, +5 , GND). The UBlox Neo -6m GPS modules I was looking at ($20-$27) all had EEPROM. Th...
