Re: Question about esc refresh rate !!
It would be no use putting in in the GUI as you need other equipment i.e a programmer, usbasp, aduino or other isp similar boards. Then you need the software to do the flashing. Flashing is a one way street though, once you flash to a different firmware you cant go back, unless someone comes up with...

Re: Question about esc refresh rate !!
Simple answer no, you cant change anything on the esc with the multiwii code. You can however, if you have the correct esc re-flash the firmware, m. I have re-flashed some of mine and the difference is amazing, before I used to get banging or clicking noises on the arms of my bi-copter since re-flas...

Re: Help needed
Well considering what you wrote in first post I thnk we can say we have got a problem out of the way. You will find if you get outdoors or a more open space that it will respond differently, less dirty air, and if you get out of the ground effect it will become more stable. Though I have said to a f...

Re: Help needed
You've still got some vibration there that why the rpms are all oscillating. If you pick the quad up does it improve. You need to get the trace line to be flat or maybe a little squiggle at higher scales. Grab the slider on the scale bar and it will display higher resolution, its very sensitive you ...

Re: A few questions after the first flight
You still need to trim acc, this is done by stick input. Motors dis-armed left stick to top left, right stick to forward, left, right, or back as needed. You can use the GUI to see what the motors are doing in acc mode, remove props to do this test. If you have got this right there should be very li...

Re: Help needed
Gyro only - nunchuck off Above where it says nunchuck there are four bars that represent the rpms of the motors. Use the trims switches on the Tx, the little ones near your sticks to get the motors to balance i.e all four motors at about the same rpm, throttle trim should be all the way down and sta...

Re: Help needed
Start off in gyro only mode, acc off, no props and GUI running. Throttle up to about half way and then use Tx trim to balance to motors, using graph on on GUI. Once you have set the tx trim dont touch it again. To balance in acc mode take off props and use GUI again but this time use the acc trim fu...

Re: shelving my quad for now
If you have a motor vibration problem then disconnect them all and reconnect one by one to test if they are causing vibration. If you press on the sensors while its running does it make any difference to the GUI, if yes, better or worse, then you need to do something about the foam. I found with one...

Re: shelving my quad for now
If you are getting lots of movement with no props and motors running then you have a vibration problem. Either insulate the sensors better or balance the motos cans. I found with mine that after I put two types of foam under my sensors I still had a problem, but if I pressed down on the sensors I co...

Re: Takeoff in stable mode?
If you have wiped the eprom and then re-loaded software it will revert to stock settings i.e what is set in the sketch. You need to set up as per the post above from Cardboard, although your Tx trims should remain the same, wont harm to recheck them with a quick flight in acro mode. Re specific code...

Re: motor power balance
Glad to hear you sorted it. I'm sure I read somewhere of someone having a problem with their arduino not working on one pin for the motors and they used another pin but selected a different setup in the sketch. If I come across it I'll get the info or the link.

Re: motor power balance
How about swopping a couple of the motors on the arduino i.e. right front to right rear see if the fault follows its probably an easier option than swopping motors and esc's around. Another option is to wire everything without the shield try and get the minimum of componants .

Re: motor power balance
If you have no props then that will explain 0 gyro data, you must have got your gyro well insulated from vibration.

Re: motor power balance
Vibration with a prop means you need to balance that prop. Have you set your esc max and min throttle commands again. Why is there no gyro data reading in the GUI, if you have vibration it will show in the GUI as the Gyros will be getting a shaking, you have a straight line, everybody dreams of havi...

How about removing the Arduino and WMP from the Paris board and connecting them together as stand alone units as in the connecting elements page, you can rule out paris board that way. To me looks your using half your thrust to push the bowl into the ground while trying to lift it all up with the other half. The bowl is attached to the frame isnt it, otherwise I'm talking tosh.

Re: N00B questions
use Tx trim in acro mode to get the motors to balanced, use the gui or do it in the air. To trim for level when the acc is active you can use GUI but you use the sticks to control the trim (when you re-calibrate acc trim settings will be lost, I believe but I may be wrong on that). ACC Trim: throttl...

Re: motor power balance
I had the same thing with my tri on first flights, you need to trim the motors with the trim on your Tx in acro mode, you can do it in the air or use the gui to get the motors in balance i.e all motors same reading with throttle at varous positions (remove props to do this test if using gui).

Re: Totally new to MultiWii
I think Kalle means you need to upload the sketch to the Arduino using the arduino-0022 software. m. Once you have the sketch uploaded then you can use the GUI to see what it is doing. Minimum set up to be able to see anything working in GU is Arduino, WMP and esc's not sure if you need motors conne...

Found the gyrodata part in the code and replaced it, it is much tamer now but still shaking, its flyable but does not hold a heading needs correcting now and then. Re: Tricopter - servo shaking
I've got this problem tail servo shakes even without motors turning. Thought I'd fixed it at the w/e when I uped the tail servo rate to 1 in the GUI, after that I managed to fly a bit despite the wind. Had a go today with as it wasnt too windy and the servo was shaking as bad as before. re the info ...

Re: Have I got it wrong
Spot on, I reversed the Ailerons in the Tx menu and now it arms with a right tilt. GUI shows the also shows the Tri rolling in the proper direction, I also had to reverse the tail servo in the sketch but that was a no brainer thanks to the inclusion of that sketch.

Built a Tri some time ago using the 3 gyro method but because it did not disarm the motors I didnt like, well not after it flew up into my face.
