Re: When CW and CCW props are not the same brand

I did not mix cw and ccw, but i mixed APC 10x3,6(or so) mounted on the backside of my quad-x, with GWS 10x4,7 on the front (more trust to compensate the weight of the cam) and this works just fine.

Re: MultiWii_dev_20111017

Hi, I also tested this dev, these days. Drift is still there but less agressive i would say. In Dev20111008 i had a constant drift to right front, wich got stronger and stronger and would lead to a crash if not corrected. Beat me if i am wrong, but this dev seems to be the first one, where i am able...

Re: Baro mode = bury Mode (in the ground mode..lol)

Ah! I never did read that So i guess you got it boxed. My quad drops around 2 meters of height before recovering. (20 or 30 ft are really hardcore drops) If i remember right this is not based on the sensor. It has something to do with the sensor readings and usage in the firmware. ...i don´t know ex...

Re: Totally new to MultiWii

hey Mac9, I have a quadrino board and I am trying to configure it using the Multiwii GUI both version 1.7 and 1.8 patch to let you know, you have to use the same firmware version (on your arduino or compatible) as GUI Version to have succsess. (Does not explain error with your COM port) a hint: I do...

Re: Baro mode = bury Mode (in the ground mode..lol)

As far as i know the Alt hold is a known issue that will be corrected. Do you have your Baro in a Box? I am asking because it seems that my baro works a bit smoother, since i boxed my whole board in a plastic box. (of course it got holes to enable airflow) Thats my subjective oppinion, but you could...

Hi, this ESCs seem to be a copy of the DYS ESC i am using.
They should work just fine. No reflashing needed, just set the correct settings (break/cutoff etc.) via Stick input.

Re: MultiWii_dev_20111008 Testing

hey, i uploaded the new dev to my quadrocopter. I tested it in flight and have to say that acro mode seemed to be more unstable. Maybe it was just based on the windgusts these days. Whats about the ACC trim, do we need now less clicks to have influence on level? At the moment i am note sure if it wa...

nice captures! The joystick really does it for me, makes the flying experience so much more enjoyable. I don't normally fly aircraft with rudder and have never flown heli so needing to use the rudder input on a standard TX was a bit to much, but with a joystick it comes far more naturally . That an...

wich kind of wood did you use for that? Your construction looks very smart.
Btw. awsome Joystick mod!!!! How did you do this? Is there an controller that translates the joystick input?

Re: Accumulative drift

Hi ziss_dm, i have to thank you for your great explanation! Yes, I can understand, that wrongly calibrated orientated MAG can cause Yaw drifts and probably level drifts due cross axis sensitivity (BTW: is your ACC level in reference to the frame body? ). But definitely should not affect anything in ...

Re: Accumulative drift

Hey ziss_dm, It seems that the wrong MAG calibration did effect the level mode. I am not toatally sure about, but as example, if i pitch my quad to the front: - calibrated: There will be no Yaw at all shown in GUI. -wrong calibrated: The Gui will show that the quad is also yawed. I do not know how t...

Hi ziss_dm, that sounds quite intresting! I will try that! Thank you. I´ve got another quesstion, is there an stick combination implemented to start the compass calibration? Hi Alex,
thats the point! I did not know that i have to calibrate the whole sphere. :? As you mentioned i just did the flat circle.
Ok i will correct that, thank you very much for that advice, i will give you a feedback of the performance after recalibrating.

Re: Accumulative drift

My conclusion: I think the main drift is based on the HMC - caused by wrong axis definition - but right now i am not sure wich to swap... The drift wich occurs in stable mode without HMC should be based on my lowered P settings on Roll and Pitch? (bad return to level) Acro mode works fine as ever. T...

Re: Accumulative drift

I think this problem was reported: - with every ACC sensors, but not on every config - and also with predefined sensors config (like the Quadrino board with the BMA180). So, the sensors orientation is not the single cause. Yes, i have to confirm that. I am able to reproduce the drift by using firmw...

hey dave, thats easy, if you got an switch on your RC that has 3 points to choose or an potentiometer, you can adjust different settings depending on the low, mid or high posistion of this switch. Example, if your switch is in position off -> Quad does not use any sensors if no boxes are checked -> ...

@rob Ah ok, thats a point, i am using cheap 30A Dys ESCs, i dont know the exact timings of them. That would explain the wobbles, but not the drift, right?
