Tricopter servo
consider not moving the servo until after armed and control returned to center.
I think that may also help with gyro calibration as my frame moves a lot when the servo tilts with prop spinning.
Plus prop hitting the ground (yes I know alternative exists)

Sport flying mode with stabilisation
Improved code for "sport" flying with stabilisation mode. i.e. stabilisation permanently on
Maybe as stick are moved further from midpoint, stabilisation is reduced. Could even loop/roll with stab on !!

RC rate adjustment for stable mode
Ability to adjust the RC rate used when in stable mode - as a #define would be fine.
For those flyers who like to fly with stabilisation on. I know many would like to. I do sometimes when in tight spots.

Running 1.9 (downloaded just prior to the arming fix) Seeing this on two Tri's - one using WMP/NK and the other ITG3200 and ADXL345 This may be same with other versions too, but I noticed it yesterday because I used GUI to set up rather than LCD and tx sticks like usual. So calibrate with the Tri le...

Search for this line in eeprom.pde and change the number and re-upload. It will then carry out a one time load eeprom default values for that release.

Re: One Motor accelerate by itself even lying flat
Try... #1 sure you haven't got the controller>>esc leads swapped ? It's easy done and will cause a flip always in same direction. (guess who has done this at least once) #2 recompiled with wrong type - tri instead of quad / x instead of + etc. etc #3 accel not calibrated. #4 board orientated correct...

Try autolevel I =0 as per other thread... Also shield acc from heat / sunlight / temp changes. That is definitely an impact on mione Also make sure heavy power cables to not run straight next to acc. I try for 1 inch separation. I did some testing and there seemed to be an impact on flying. More twi...

Sorry - to be clear - don't use the experimental. Just normal autollevel ( i.e. make sure this is commented out !! //#define LEVEL_PDF ) I don't normally like expo either, but it seems to work nicely flying with autolevel on. Try 1.8 with autolevel PI reduced to half of defaults. And some expo - maybe 50-60%. I think you might like the way it flies. Similar to how you describe.

Thanks Alex.
I haven't tried that yet. Never considered myself an acro flyer - but for sure some of the moments are quite sudden and what the tri would think is acro!
I'll tri and let you know. May be awhile - going away on hols in a couple of days
Cheers,
G

Re: Fast forward issue with (dev20110705)
I had my first opportunity to fly at a field today with the new version. Tri with latest dev code + the few patches. I updated last night. wmp+NK descending at say a 20-30 deg angle and pulling slight back with a bit of throttle to help stop and the rear pitched right back so the tri was almost vert...

Re: Autolevel issue with latest dev versions
Thank you - that make sense. I am now wondering if me releasing the sticks during cal is causing the problem. Its a small short arm tri with relatively big motor and prop. When I release stick during cal it does make it wobble around a bit compared to the big tri. Do you think that would do it? Stra...

Autolevel issue with latest dev versions
Not sure if its just this version. I think it was same with last dev I tried too (20110710), but thought I had a faulty accell. So using a wmp/NK setup... Had some weird issues with acc calibration. I was trying to calibrate with my tx at the field today and it looked like it was doing it. Gave the ...

Max angle in autolevel
Am flying the latest dev version and all OK, but I find the max angle when flying in autolevel not quite enough. EBI - yes I get the same when I turn tri upside down to fit battery.

Yes thats' it. Only other thing to mention, the motors on looks good - it's only when start to open the throttle. Now I think about this, I have experienced occasional strange flips opening the throttle when opening with earlier versions - Quite possibly after a calibration. I never had one in the a...
