Re: multiWii SE v2.1 Setup Help : )

It sounds to me like you haven't calibrated your accellerometer or gyro yet, which is why your motors were all over the place. Try that first before you go changing things in your config file.

Re: MultiWii EZ-GUI

Yes, using official mwii 2.1.
It works well for me so haven't looked at the later dev version.

Re: MultiWii EZ-GUI

Just checked again, and AUX switch check boxes are not showing for me, either on my crappy tablet or my Samsung Galaxy phone, so not sure what's wrong. Also while checking it out, the motors suddenly started at Min speed (luckily no props fitted) even though I hadn't changed anything, so I'm guessin...

Re: first time quad builder having headache!!

The blue LED flashing on your board means that you haven't calibrated the accelerometer. On the GUI you will see a button 'Calib_Acc' - click this with the quad perfectly level and stable and the GUI graph should calm down. Don't touch the quad until the calibration has finished. Then you can calibr...

Re: MWC-Prelude all in one setup application

Final update - I don't know what has changed, but I did another reboot of the laptop and it is now working! No idea why.
One thing I noticed - although we can enable LCDconfig and LCDtelemetry, there is no check box for the type of LCD (unless I'm still missing some buttons)?

Re: MWC-Prelude all in one setup application

Hans, I've re-downloaded to make sure I have the latest version, and updated with the latest exe file. I now see the 2 knobs and also the box with the three web links is now showing. I can also go through the process of loading a config.h file, but the window doesn't change. I'll try it on a differe...

refractions, thanks for the advice. If I run the exe file from the install folder, the program runs, but I only see two buttons - Load config.h and Quit. Re: MWC-Prelude all in one setup application

I haven't been able to run the program. It will launch, but I only see the backdrop and two buttons, with no text. A box then pops up saying 'unable to find wiisetup.exe' I am running Windows 7, and have tried both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions. I'm obviously doing something wrong as others have be...

Re: CRIUS LCD BUG WITH 2.0

I'm obviously doing something wrong, as I am unable to communicate with the LCD using Realterm, Hyperterminal or the Arduino serial monitor. I am using gnd, 5v and tx from ftdi to the lcd, but just get occasional garbage. The only way I have been able to talk to it is by using serial.print through a...

Re: A few questions after the first flight

Have you calibrated the Mag as well as the accelerometer?
I found with the Crius SE board I had to calibrate the Mag two or three times to get it to read correctly.

Re: CRIUS LCD BUG WITH 2.0

Quick update, I've tried the Ctrl-r reset using Hyperterminal and it hasn't made any difference. Metroid, if you're right about it being a 1 x 40 display this would explain why none of the settings I have tried will work. Looking at the display, it has two lines of 16 characters, making a total of 3...

Re: CRIUS LCD BUG WITH 2.0

Thanks Shikra, I'll give that a try when I'm back home (working away for a few days this week).
I saw the <control key>r sequence in the datasheet, but didn't know how to send the sequence in software. I didn't think of just using a terminal!
I'll let you know if I have any success.

Re: CRIUS LCD BUG WITH 2.0

I use the same adaptor, but on the CRIUS board there are seperate pins for FTDI and TTL. The LCD connects to the TTL pins. See picture - Crius SE Pins.jpg I've also tried the following (from the Sparkfun serial LCD datasheet), but I get odd characters where the control codes should be, and only 21 c...

I think that is probably what's caused the problem, as I did the same with mine.

Come on then, Shikra, give us a clue! Where did you find the documentation, or better still, how did you reprogram your LCD?

Re: throttle issue / Multiwii 2.0

With the throttle at Max, the Roll and Nick (Pitch) stick is used to trim the quad for stable mode. The LED is flashing to acknowledge the trim inputs you are applying. This will not happen when the motors are armed. The normal method for trimming the quad is to fly in acro mode and trim for stable ...

Re: Error when Verify / Compile or uploading

You're compiling the config file for the GUI instead of the Multiwii 2.0 code.
You should have two folders - Multiwii_2_0 and MultiwiiConf_2_0.
Open the Multiwii_2_0.ino file in the Multiwii_2_0 folder using Arduino 1.0

Re: CRIUS_LITE and CRIUS_SE

Duly tested! Again, all sensors appear to give the correct readings in the GUI as far as positive / negative deflection, but when the board is rotated to a point approaching 90° the opposite axis flips. i.e. If the board is rolled right to a point approaching 90°, the pitch axis will suddenly flip 1...

Re: CRIUS_LITE and CRIUS_SE

I've done a bit more digging, and the problem seems to occur in the code change from revision r555 to r607. See m The orientation of Acc, Gyro and Mag have changed in sensors.pde, with a subsequent change in def.h but the two don't seem to tie up. My knowledge of coding isn't good enough to work out...

Re: CRIUS_LITE and CRIUS_SE

Hi Thorsten, I have a Crius SE, but have so far not been able to work out the correct configuration. All the numbers in the GUI look correct, but when you roll the board inverted the Mag heading flips 180°, and if you pitch the board inverted the heading stays the same. Should be the other way aroun...

Have just tried version 2.0 preversion_1 with default Crius SE defines and still the same. Maybe it's my board?
Hoping someone else has this board and can confirm the behaviour of theirs.

Re: dev20120225 orientation warning!!!

Thanks for the reply - yes, I'm using the standard Crius SE definition, and have tried pretty much everything else too.
What I don't understand is that all the sensor values are correct to the normal accepted levels as far as value change on deflection, but the orientation when inverted is not.

That's great, thank you for the pointer. I'm just relieved it wasn't something I was doing!
I'll compile using Arduino 023 for now, which I think will work. I just want to test my board, my copter's not finished yet.
Again, many thanks for the reply. I'll keep an eye on the Arduino 1.0 thread.

Compile Error

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but here goes...... I'm building a Quad X and am having real problems programming the Arduino Pro mini. I get a compile error as follows: core.a(HardwareSerial.cpp.o): In function `__vector_19': C:\Users\Andy\Desktop\Tricopter Stuff\arduino-1.0\hardw...
