Re: Mag calibration procedure and compass rose blink

.... PS. I'm currently struggling with a problem where the magnetometer values freeze after a random period of time, and only reloading the software (rebooting the GUI) gets them moving again. I'm not getting any I2C errors and there's nothing which triggers the values to freeze. Sometimes it will ...

Re: Mag calibration procedure and compass rose blink

Thank you for the explanation Alex !
So if I understand well the Mag calibration is not crucial for GPS operation and there is no need of a strict control of it.

What does it means when the compass rose blinks ?

Re: Improving Altitude Hold Performance

Hello everybody, here is the video I promise some days ago. m Compared to the flight that I was talking in my previous post , the performance is a little bit worst but this time there was a light wind and the quad had recover from a crash and I had to repair a propeller with a firebrand , so perform...

Re: Improving Altitude Hold Performance

My PID values for ALT are 1,8-0-10, my quad have a total weight of 1000 grams, 950 kv motors, epp10x4,7 props, and 3S 2500mah battery. You gave incorrect settings for Alt PID because is a PI controller and your I term is 0, D is ignored by software. And you also dont say anithing about Vel PID. Ple...

Re: Improving Altitude Hold Performance

Hello, A Mwii developper wrote me this: But in the latest 1.8 has the following changes: - the output of Altitude PID is feed forwarded. That means that you can use the ALT PID alone. - The velocity PID is actually PD controller (I term is ignored) - The altitude PID is actually PI controller (D ter...

Re: "ALT" instead of throttle?

Hello mr.rc-cam, I'm not saying that in does not work, I'm just saying that the way how Altitude Hold is achieve IMHO is far to be optimal. What has always made me sick is that with MK is quite difficult to have a "natural" altitude hold without using the baro switch , in theory when you f...

MultiwiiConf 32 on Ubuntu 64 bit ?

Hello, I have done a search but I did not found the answer. I do not know if it is possible but I would like to use MultiwiiConf on Mint 12 64 bit or Ubuntu 11.10 64 bit. I'm a newbie for Linux O.S. so I wonder if there is a trick to have working MultiwiiConf 32 on a 64 bit O.S. . I have already ins...

Here are some notes fo achieving a good altitude hold : - protect the baro sensor from light and air turbulence , I used a black plasti...

Re: Improving Altitude Hold Performance

I've seen several MikroKopter videos that showed amazing altitude hold performance in a variety of conditions. I don't know what sensor (baro or Z-Accel) they use but it seems to work well. I have a large experience with Mikrokopters, over 50 units built in the last 4 years I can say that maintaini...

Re: "ALT" instead of throttle?

I have a very long experience with Mikrokopter, altitude hold in not a strong point of MK. With no barometer or GPS Mk has a very bad behaviour when you try to hover at a stable altitude, it will always go up or down, non matters if it is a quad, hexa or okto , and no matters the firmware release, I...
