Sorry about the VERY LATE reply gregd72002 I must not have notifications set to email me when a reply is posted to my questions. I ended up running the Atmega32u4 at 5v / 16mHz which alleviated the overclocked situation when it was running at 3.3v

Can someone please tell me in which MultiWii file/s the resonator frequency is set. I am using an FC that is using a Atmega32U4 running at 16mHz at 3.3v and want to experiment trying to run it at 8mHz so that the Atmega is not running overclocked.

I will try that out. If I do this, I will still be able to set all three flight modes by switch in the GUI won't I? The only thing that will be different is that the default mode will now be Horizon rather than Acro. Am I understanding you correctly please.
