Re: Visual Variometer

The Telemetry version has flown
20min flight for 2mins motor run, in poor lift conditions
with a Kunlun winged electric glider, not an ideal thermal 'plane

However its proven its worth to me

Re: Visual Variometer

Hi. Hamburger thanks for the reply Just to be clear this system is for Gliders (electric or unpowered) My bad for not stating that better in the first post. Only the Baro data is used (indeed the Only Sensor fitted is a Baro) with a few software additions to detect Rate of Climb integration with lat...

Re: Visual Variometer

I flew the first version yesterday unfortunately, LED's aren't going to cut it even 100ft away they aren't visible, even on an overcast day like yesterday. But I haven't given up, the next step is to change my Frsky modules to the Telemetry version and trigger a Low voltage Alarm buzzer on the Tx to...

Re: MultiWii 1.9

Cheers I'll 'scope the data lines and adjust pull-up values if needed.

I added a thread about the Visual Variometer

E Glider Variometer

I'm wanting to build a Visual Variometer using multi Wii code an Ard and BMP085 The principle is fairly simple just Flash a bright LED or two on the glider when in lift increasing rate of flashing would mean More lift I'm no coder but handy with a soldering iron also I have too many years working on...

Re: MultiWii 1.9

Thanks for the feedback

I should say. I'm not going to use the BMP085 on a Wii copter
I'm hoping to build a Visual Variometer for model gliders

If the Baro is tied to the ACC in the 1.9 code
this explains why I'm getting no readings (No ACC)

Thanks again

Re: MultiWii 1.9

Hi. Yes Baro data is 0 , lots of I2C errors showing in 1.9
WM+ works fine in 1.7 , 1.8 and 1.9

Almost seems 1.9 is not looking in the right place for Baro data in 1.8 and 1.9
Anyone else tried the BMP085 ?

Re: MultiWii 1.9

Hi. not sure if this is useful here
but I find BMP085 Baro won't work in 1.8 or 1.9 (tried 2 baro's)
they do however work in 1.7

Re: MultiWii Gyro problem

Try loading an earlier version then reload V1.7
afaik this will reset the eprom to default V1.7 values

I'm no expert though.

On your original problem "violently flipping on take off" I don't understand how reversing the Yaw could possibly help ?

Re: Buzzer

Thank you for the replies
My buzzer is http://www.sparkfun.com/datasheets/Comp ... M-1203.pdf
so 1-2Hz won't drive it.

RR your cct buzzer must have an integral driver and Q1 is acting as a switch.
Many thanks for the info. I'll probably just use Led's instead

Buzzer

Hi. guys

Just a quick question
What form of output is the Buzzer alarm from D8 on the Arduino
is it dc or Square Wave ?

Thanks
Paul
