Re: MultiWii release 2.1 is here :)
I seem to have a bug where the estimated ROLL and PITCH angles are still not level right after a ACC calibration. See in the screen shot that Z acc is 201 and all others are close to zero yet on the right the ROLL and PITCH diagrams way off from flat! I didnt have this issue in 2.0 or previous. http...

Just FYI
you can definatley query it more than 5hz, BUT the data is "OLD" and is only updated at 1hz

Re: GPS integration
use a 1k-10k feed resistor from the GPS into the Tx and the Rx pins, use the FTDI or equivalent cable without any feed resistors, the FTDI will overdrive the signal from the GPS.

GPS reciever chips
I have for sale quite a number of GPS chips - Trimble Copernicus @ 1hz update rate. I will update this when i have none left These are bare chips with no antenna but a simple wire cut to 1/2 lambda for 1.5ghz is sufficient. While bare chips, they have enough circuitry wrapped around them under the m...

Re: Attempt to compensate linear acceleration
These sensors have lots of drift due to noise and slow bus. Also your outerloop (level) should be changed to a pid since you are now effectively trying to control displacement making it a 2nd order system to help limit the return speed. To minimize gyration and centripetal acceleration try to put th...

Re: Emergency shut down
Cheap and easy solution. Take three iron magnets. Solder battery to one. Escs to one. Make a three magnet sandwich. Crash will disconnect them. Change diameter of magnet to survive vibes but not crashes.
Make sure the feed wires are well secured and only the middle magent is free.

Re: GPS integration
i agree that would be the down side, i think that if we do the jumper idea, the jumper is removed when you are ready to integrate into your system and thus the arduino IDE is no longer required... edit: better yet, we can use a special char that the micro is expecting which is not found in typical N...

Honey bee king 2/Belt CP radio
I am dirt cheap so instead of buying a 9 Channel TX, i re-purposed the tx found for the belt cp/honeybeeking 2 from esky. i also went one step further and made it do ppm sum! TX - Esky 0406A RX - Esky Ek2-0402A Tx mods - on the back flip the red dip switches to 1 on 2 off, front switches ail, ele, t...

Re: GPS integration
jumper idea is great, that way we can still upload the code without needing to reconnect different serial ports. if we can prove that there is enough cpu cycles to perform soft serial, we can program the micro to send telemetry via RS232 to bluetooth (9 dollar items on ebay) on the soft serial pins ...

Wooden frames...
There seems to be quite a few people making wooden frames. Hobby king m could be torsionally stiffer in the arms but it does the job the entire frame with battery is 730g and *almost* didnt need any tuning at all (reduced the stock 4.0P value to 3.8) Open source models: m i have cleaned up these mod...

GPS integration
I know there is already a thread for GPS integration but the current solutions are softserial and or I2C. Neither is a good solution: 1) SoftSerial uses interrupts which will can cause a huge bag of issues and quite intensive for the CPU 2) I2C requires special chips which translate the readily avai...

Forum password
I just registered and would like to say that the forum password restrictions are WAY too much. Is there any plan in reducing the need for a special char, caps, numbers and normal letters?
Thanks
