Re: Naze32Pro STMF3 help thread
Hi Gents - not sure if this thread is still active. I've been out of touch for a while as the day job got a bit busy, but I'm am back and keen to get back to tinkering in my man cave.... Couple of questions I'd appreciate some pointers to: - Did the Naze board with SPI MPU6000 and FPU make it to pro...

Re: Why development has stopped?
So .. MW 2.4 should be out soon .. with tons of new feature Maybe this will seem controversial to some - but this is exactly the problem with the approach to MultiWii (and many other FC's). More bells and whistles is not a good metric for better flight control. It is an inevitable problem with open...

Re: Why development has stopped?
anyway, can we please get off the board subject & back on topic? Here here! Btw - I feel I should row back slightly from my earlier comment. There are some great firmwares out there, from which I have learnt a great deal - my position is more about the fact they take considerable effort to unde...

Out of interest - is this for reasons of layout, or to provide multiple redundancy?

Re: Why development has stopped?
I've never really understood the argument about lack of availability of FC boards. I have an embarrassingly full draw of FCs I've still yet to use - both 8bit and 16bit. Admittedly I'm London based so benefit from easy logistics, but surely everyone has access to a few of the following : 32bit NazeA...

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread
Thanks TC - I was indeed planning to run a Spek Sat of the 3.3v with a 4s... I've got a handful of TO-220 package 5v regulators lying around I can use for now. Presumably I can get away without any additional smoothing caps as your onboard regs will still do this sufficiently. While I think of it, i...

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread
TC - quick question, I've belatedly noticed that since 08/10/2014 all AcroNaze32 boards are shipping with 16v capable regulators. Don't now why I thought otherwise as this will be a huge win for my current projects. I've got loads of boards (all red rev 5 boards) bought from a few different sources ...

Re: Naze32Pro STMF3 help thread
Excellent! Thanks - I'll wait for the lite versions. Should give me enough time to bootstrap myself up the STM / ARM learning curve, as only recently got the build environment set up as had gone back to playing with AVRs. Do you assemble the production boards or just the protoypes? Any pointers / li...

Re: Why development has stopped?
Stop hating & complaining about one vs. the other. Here here! Any reasonably smart person (and surely thats everyone in the quad community?) can see there are pros and cons of all sides. MWC8, stop depending on the fucking Arduino IDE. Abso-bloodly-lutely! I get the great work that Arduino has ...

Re: Why development has stopped?
Agreed! But I do.... It's not for everyone, but there's good few in the multirotor community who are in it for curiosity & learning interests (myself included) and if someone is going to embark on building a FC from scratch, picking the good bits from MWC, APM, OpenPilot etc then thats an intere...

Thanks treym I'll look forward to getting my hands on the next gen versions I've only just started looking through your code, but are you able to point to where you read / filter the MPU? Re: help with Afro 20 ESCs
Hi Noctaro Here's my version : m If you read through the commits (click m if you're unfamiliar with GitHub) you can see how I've gone from the latest version of SimonK and stripped out unused features, and attempted to make it easier to follow (for me at least). There's links through to SimonK's rep...

Re: Naze32Pro STMF3 help thread
The MPU6000's are from the same bag I've had for nearly 2 years now - I bought 100 and have been (very) slowly using them. brm also mentioned this - one board he got needed almost no calibration - and he was surprised, asked me if I got a new batch of MPU6k or something... Unfortunately, I have no ...

Re: Why development has stopped?
Sometimes its a good idea to take what you've learned and start over fresh? I do it all the time and really, it does work well for cleaning things up and getting back on track. That's what I'm doing now. I have a pretty good idea what I want as an end product. With this in mind I've just took a bla...

Re: Cleanflight aka Multiwii port to STM32 F10x and F30x
While I'm thinking of questions -
i) is it on your roadmap to support OpenPilot Revolution?
ii) do any of the current target boards reliably support Spektrum satellite? [From my experience Pixhawk does, NanoWii does, OP Revo claims to but many including me can't get it to work]

Re: help with Afro 20 ESCs
FWIW - the Afro is my ESC of choice, and I always prefer to flash the ESC rather than manually calibrate. Two reasons i) I've had a batch of AfroESCs from HK which arrived with a very dodgy firmware / settings on it; ii) it uses an external oscillator for timing and so is accurate from hard coded PW...

ps. Dominic - I noticed in your code the beerware licence, and that you're based in London.
I work near here (http://thecraftbeerco.com/pubs/clerkenwell/) and will happily buy you a beer or two from their extensive range the next time you're in the area...

Re: Cleanflight aka Multiwii port to STM32 F10x and F30x
Hoping someone can confirm this for me before I try the build for the first time... Is TARGET = NAZE referring to the AcroNaze32 board (m), and TARGET = NAZE32PRO referring to the NazePro32 board (m) ie the full version with Baro & Magnometer These boards seem to have so many conflicting names I...
