Re: Barely any (no) vertical control on takeoff rockets off!

I had a similar problem when setting up my 328p. The problem was it had too much lift to fix it i just had to add some expo to the throttle.

Re: Powering a MultiWii from a LiPo battery

Correct. UBEC stands for "Universal Battery Eliminator Circuit" Most speed controllers have one built in to power your receiver and servos BEC is just "Battery Eliminator Circuit" im not sure what the difference is.

Re: Powering a MultiWii from a LiPo battery

The easiest way is with your bec via the the servo outputs same way you would power your receiver. You can also power it via usb for configuration.

Re: Not flying well pops up fast!

Just a thought from a noob but maby its overpowered? I ask because i am currently having that problem with my quad and the symptoms sound similar. When i increase throttle just above idle it jumps into the air and ether wants to rise like crazy or if i reduce throttle drop like a rock. I tried a add...

How do i compensate for too much lift?

I am currently building my second quad and i have run into an unexpected problem... It seems to be too light. This time around i am going for better efficiency with hexTronik DT750's swinging 11.47 SF props which can provide a total max thust of 4kg+ and the total fling weight is 1.5kg with 2 2200ma...

Re: Multiwii Beginners Guide to Basic First Flight

Yup that fixed it! It flies steady as a rock now.
The reason i didnt do it strait away was because i thought it was only as a last resort and i thought my vibration isolator (AKA Block of foam) would remove the very small amount of vibration in the frame.

Thank You for all of your help!!!!!!

Re: Multiwii Beginners Guide to Basic First Flight

Just one more thing i want to ask. It flies now but it is very shaky and unstable in the air i have done everything i can to reduce vibration and what vibration there is is barely noticeable. Would this be a result of the vibration or do i need to adjust the PID settings? Also you mentioned that v2....

Re: Multiwii Beginners Guide to Basic First Flight

You caught me just after i finished the rebuild and it did remove all of the interference affecting the magnetometer but as you predicted it didnt fix the problem. But i am still happy i did it because it looks a lot better now and i was able to improve vibration isolation. I am just getting started...

Re: Multiwii Beginners Guide to Basic First Flight

Hmm... I think that has reviled the problem... The Accelerometer and Gyro look very stable but the Magnetometer is all over the place so i suspect it is picking up interference from the 4 in 1 esc mounted directly bellow it... Other then that everything works fine it fights to stay level and there i...

Re: Multiwii Beginners Guide to Basic First Flight

I cleared the EEProm and reinstalled v2.3 but it still dose the same thing... As soon as it starts to lift off of the ground all 4 motors immediately start slowing down and then accelerating again. If i push it strait up to around 2/3 throttle (it hovers around 1/2) it takes off and then immediately...

Re: Multiwii Beginners Guide to Basic First Flight

Im not sure what it was originally running (it was pre programmed) but i started having problems when i updated to 2.3 and the problems continued when i downgraded to the version supplied by Hobby King. I did not clear the EEProm when i updated so i will try that and see how it goes but i wont be ab...

Re: Multiwii Beginners Guide to Basic First Flight

What are the default auxiliary settings? I just built my first quad(X) using the MultiWii 328P from Hobby King and with the default software it worked ok but when i updated to the latest version i couldn't even get it off the ground. When I tried to take of all four motors would act crazy and it wou...
