Replaced the motors and it seems to fly okay now.

You can find cheap modules containing all 3 of those sensors on one single board on eBay. Just attach that to SPI instead of the old sensors. Also, mwii 2.0 is way, way outdated.

Yes, and those are not just defective, they're the wrong part for the job.. only rated for 500 mA and probably the wrong pinout.
The residue is some sort of flux.
Replace them with IRLML2502. Cheap to get off ebay and handle up to 4.2A.

Exactly the same here, received a board today too. Everything works fine in the GUI except for the motors.
Edit: Okay, I can't f*n believe it. ALL FOUR FETs are fried out of the box.
Just replaced one, boom, it works.

Either you have a strong magnetic field on your Copter near the mag, or you didn't calibrate it properly. I always got exactly that when calibration was wrong or bad.

I don't think you can even flash that one over ISP.
Try using the 1.4 beta of MWOSD. 1.3 had some issues writing to the atmega, it may also have issues with the video chip.

MIDRC changes the values for ALL channels.
Since you only want to change the THR channel, use the Throttle Mid option in the multiwii GUI. Try i.e. 0.45 there to see if things improve.

There's no reason why mpng should work with apm, considering it's merely a direct port. No point in porting something that already exists in a better form.

Your throttle stick has to be centered at around 1500, and centered when you switch to althold if you want it to stay at that height. Below 1450 or above 1550, it will go down or up.

It's your frame most likely. I had massive issues with the SK450 too (despite balancing motors and props), because the arms are soft enough to put a knot in them without much effort. I put the exact same components on another frame with no changes and it immediately flew awesome.

Tricopter motor directions really don't matter, but having the front two go cw and ccw (or ccw and cw) will take out some of the rotational force because they cancel each other out, so the tail doesn't have to lean as far just to maintain a straight hover.

You have it set up as a serial PPM receiver, but wired up as a parallel pwm receiver.
Undefine both serial_sum_ppm and ppm_on_throttle and it should work, given that you don't have even more receiver options active.

Headfree relies entirely on the compass. The compass is highly sensitive to interference from power wiring.. i.e. the ESC/battery wires. In order to prevent this, you'll have to either put the entire flight controller on a tall standoff (not recommended) or install an external compass and put that o...
