You should check the local laws for permitted power levels 25mW is a pretty common 5.8GHz limit in Europe. Power levels are less important than a good quality antenna pair. Each time you double tx the output this may give you a 20% to 25% improvement but that will leave you with multi path (ghosting...

Spektrum (or orange) satellites run off 3.3v and I flew my 1st naze of a broken out 3.3v pin Wetherby you can run the bluetooth and a satellite RX at the same time I'm afraid I can't answer. Re: MultiWii OSD - MWOSD
From memory if you don't have the solder pads bridged you will need to have the overlay board side powered by a 12 feed.
If the pad is bridged then the ftdi should upload absolutely fine.

It's usually easier to work through the other forums first, the one I posted covers almost everything you could want but work through the first few pages first as they contain the most basic info. Later ones tend to cover things that turn up with firmware updates (and the usual setup questions) Hope...

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread
OK, I found the problem. I was screwed up in two different ways - I needed direction to get over the "multiwii vs normal" motor assignments, and just as bad, I discovered that I had not changed my radio from the default R-E-T-A setup on channels 1-4 to the correct A-E-T-R. UGH. That creat...

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread
It sounds to me like you have your escs plugged into the wrong pins. If you dont think this is the mixup an easy fix would be to plug the front left motor which should be 4 to the pin that outputs when you test motor 4, and the same with the rest. And when you are done you have discovered the right...

I would suggest that if you don't know how to upload code to an arduino then you really don't have a basic understanding of microcontrollers Btw I have no intention of being rude, but a bit of honesty is sometimes required, especially to avoid unessicary difficultys It's not hard to do but you are g...

I have heard it said that on a fixed wing you can get getaway without a compass as a fixed wing aircraft is always (well near enough) moving forward so a heading can always be calculated from gps data. Multi rotors are different as forward movement is not necessarily taking place therefore a magneto...

Sigh I looked at the multiwii code it's a mess, that's what happens especially in the way multiwii developed. However don't push object orientated as that creates it's own mess and makes debugging even worse. People complain about timecop and his views on coding style, however baseflight is readable...

There is no best transmitter simply what you can afford and feel comfortable using. If you are looking at the x9 family I would suggest spending the extra money (not much more) and getting the Tranaris. The x9 looks cheap until you have to buy the transmitter module as well I fly a Spektrum dx7s I'm...

In the very early days head free can be useful if the beginner loses orientation you can hit head free mode and pulling back on the right stick beings it back home (seen it used on APM equipped quads like this) Other than that I would say avoid it as will make it al lot harder to learn to fly the ma...

Re: Position Hold with Optical Flow sensor - done
An optical flow sensor essentially takes a picture of an area, then takes another picture and compares how the features have moved. So called non reflective are better than highly reflective images as it's only highlights which are looked at, that's why flash and mirrors don't work, unless you have...

Nobody say it had shorted (though I gave it as one possibility) You are disconnecting a load from the FC and then reconnecting that is never a good thing, adding into that any 'bounce' then you have even more potential for problems with the flight controller getting upset. Easiest thing to do is to ...

@eatkabab other flight controllers have the compass on the main board without issues. The problem doesn't come from the other componants on he board but from where the board is mounted in the first place, often close to the power distribution, esc's or motors. The compass (on the case of APM) was mo...

@eatkabab can I ask why you think covering the flight controller with foam would improve the head free mode?
