I solved the problem: Before I got the bluetooth I had a Startech LCD connected on the port I subsequently used for the bluetooth module. Once I disbled the LCD in Multiwii the problem went away. SOLVED. The problem was that I had enabled Startech LCD on the same port and the two devices conflicted. I removed the LCD as it is no longer needed now I have the bluetooth connection and all is fine.
Thought this might help someone.
Note that I did not try the two modules on different ports.

Hi, The app is great! I discovered a problem with the MultiWii firmware for the RCTimer bluetooth module though.
