Re: 10Hz GPS thread

Hi ! I just dont know what chipset that GPS uses and if it is configurable in a way to deliver usable data to the i2c board. You are going to habe to invest (and may spoil) a lot of time to find out. Dont get me wrong, i am the same type of guy: I buy the cheapest stuff and fail a lot of times but w...

Re: 10Hz GPS thread

Hi !

woops, i corrected the link !
Your tools should be fine !
The GPS nav code for i2c boards is universal and then i used ublix config file for the gps.

Greetings,

Ender

P.S. just look at my posts a few lines above what i did to make things work...

Re: 10Hz GPS thread

Looks good together. Dont rely on the GPS or the i2c board to have the right settings / firmware installed ! So better have the needed info and stuff at hand to reprogram or reconfigure stuff. That can save you a lot of tears And the gps board & i2c pinouts are very often labelled wrong (Rx <-->...

Re: Expected performance of altitude hold and GPS hold modes

Hi Alex. By flawed math i MEANT the quality of the algorithm, sorry to be misleading. So: possily no errors, just a not-so-good approach. As i did not have the time to put a Quad together (just for testing BradWii) i only base my opinion on what others say in he main BradWii thread. As for the code:...

Re: 10Hz GPS thread

Hi Alex. -Accuracy: I did not try out 5Hz myself but if you look in the APM thread i reference i have a solid belief that guy really maxed out the options. If i look at the precision in u-center it reaches 0,4m very fast. In my APM Y6 the sat lock is very precise (1 cubic meter even in wind, if ther...

Re: 10Hz GPS thread

Hi ! I had success of getting good 10Hz Data with the Neo 6M from HK ($18): m connected via I2C eBay ($6): (it read "crius" on the board) m All this using a Hobbyking MultiWii 328P Flight Controller w/FTDI & DSM2 Port ($27): m The i2c was not reacting on FTDI so i reflashed the Bootloa...

Re: Quad Noob Question - Barometric sensor

Hi ! The Barometric sensor (aka BARO) helps to use the ALtitude Hold mode. You can flick a switch on your Tx ant the craft holds altitude. There are 2 obstacles to overcome: -1-The sensors are typically sensitive to light (strange, isnt it) and to local pressure changes (wind gusts, prop backwash, ....

Re: Expected performance of altitude hold and GPS hold modes

Hi ! I am fighting with those two myself (who doesn't ?). I can only say that the ***same*** Hardware with an APM (even using same GPS with the very same settings, UBX+38400 baud). Was able to hold ALT within 30cm and position within 50x50x50 cm with stock values on Arducopter 3.01... After a whole ...

adjust manual climb / descent speed in ALT HOLD

Hi ! When i activate Baro aka Alt hold mode the climb & descent rate is very low (maybe 10-20 cm per sec). I realize that my PID's are not yet perfect (the F550 was flying WONDERFUL with an APM and still somewhat horrible with MultiWii but i start getting there step by step. One word: AUTOTUNE)....
