Re: Cleanflight aka Multiwii port to STM32 F10x and F30x

Hi Matt, thanks for sharing your experiences with the different PID controllers! Just some quick questions, because I couldn't try them out myself yet: Were you using the same PIDs for pid_controller 0 and 1? If I got that right, 0 and 1 are pretty similar? And did KISS and Oneshot help with your &q...

Re: Cleanflight aka Multiwii port to STM32 F10x and F30x

Guys, what is the main difference between the PID controller 1 and PID controller 2? Yup, I'd also like to know that. What PID controllers are there, what are the differences, which ones are still actively in development? And which one is "Lux's PID controller"? Didn't find anything in th...

Re: Cleanflight aka Multiwii port to STM32 F10x and F30x

This is kinda funny, but mostly sad. Let me quote the one coherent sentence in your otherwise incoherent ramblings: Wait, I take this question back as you answered this already by totally ignoring any concern and instead went straight for personal attack. You're really complaining that you're not ta...

Re: Cleanflight aka Multiwii port to STM32 F10x and F30x

I instantly recognized those trees from your KISS comparison video. Thanks for the comparison! Also, nice flying. Now I'm relieved I didn't make a video of my own. Guess I should apply for team Nana. Nice to see Oneshot is working. So maybe the better throttle response was only in my head (hard to m...

Re: Cleanflight aka Multiwii port to STM32 F10x and F30x

Oops, you're right. User fault. Sorry. Edit: Ok, it works. And it seems to work great. Of course it's possible that my expectations are impairing my judgment, but it feels even more responsive with Oneshot. Definitely improved throttle response. Can't really test it though in this weather. But I suc...

Re: Cleanflight aka Multiwii port to STM32 F10x and F30x

I wanted to try Oneshot, but it didn't work. I flashed the most recent firmware, set PIDs, AUX ranges, looptime 2000 and the necessary features (PPM, motor_stop, VBAT, telemetry) - all working. Then I set "feature oneshot125", saved, rebooted - nothing. When I arm the Naze32 (rev5), nothin...

Ouch. But autotuning at night... Audacious. ;)
Seems like the autotune algorithm is not very robust

Re: Cleanflight aka Multiwii port to STM32 F10x and F30x

Two days ago I wanted to try Autotune on one of my Minis, because I'm never completely happy with my PIDs and wanted to see what this Algorithm comes up with. The hardware I used: eyefly Trip Frame , eyefly 1806 motors, Afro ESC 12A v3 with BLHeli, Gemfan 5030, Naze32 rev. 5, 4S 1.3 Ah nano-tech bat...

Re: Baseflight aka multiwii port to stm32

Ok, tested some more. If FrSky telemetry output is enabled, the Naze32 instantly locks up when armed.

This should be the previous firmware hex from August (I just downloaded last week's version from Github):

Re: Baseflight aka multiwii port to stm32

The new binary doesn't work for me. Made a backup of my old configuration, updated the firmware with Baseflight Configurator (loading online firmware), restored the configuration. The Naze32 boots up just fine, I can switch flight modes, but as soon as I flip the arm switch, it becomes unresponsive....

Re: Harakiri aka multiwii port to stm32

Yup, I know it's hardware related, I just wanted to know if the software can somehow cope with it. Guess I'll need to take it apart and check how the ESC/FC placement and cable routing affect the mag. Not easy on a small(ish) frame. :( Would be much easier with an external mag.

Re: Harakiri aka multiwii port to stm32

Maybe a stupid question: How sensitive is the Harakiri GPS-code to magnetic interference? I'm asking because I just built a new copter with a full-featured Naze (normally I only use Acros), and the first time I switched on the mag, the heading got out of control pretty quickly while hovering. Mag wa...

Re: Harakiri aka multiwii port to stm32

Danke! What was weird however was that not only could I not disable passthrough, I also couldn't connect at all. I do understand the logic behind the CLI stuff ('-', save, exit...), I just couldn't access the Naze _at all_ (with Baseflight GUI). I would have preferred to use the Baseflight Configura...

Re: Harakiri aka multiwii port to stm32

For some reason I had problems with Testcode3_r26: First it appeared to flash successfully using the Baseflight Configurator for Chrome, but the Naze32 was non-responsive and I had to re-flash it to Baseflight using the bootloader pads. Then I tried it with the Baseflight GUI (which isn't developed ...

Re: Harakiri aka multiwii port to stm32

> e_lm_70 I was thinking maybe a crash detection with better logic. Say, if inverted, and barometer is not changing with a threshold/crash setting, and possibly the acc not changing with large values also a threshold, then unit is crashed. Even if the logic was long, say a 5 second delay, it still ...

Thanks, I was already wondering how you were handling all the orders.
I was desperate enough to refresh the store page anyway and already ordered. ;)

Damn. I already had the feeling I would be missing this little window of opportunity... do you know when they'll be in stock again, and if there'll be more units next time?

Re: Harakiri aka multiwii port to stm32

I had the same linker error under Ubuntu when I tried to use gcc-arm-linux-gnueabi, like Mr-Fiero described. Using another toolchain worked though ( https://launchpad.net/~terry.guo/+archive/gcc-arm-embedded ): Step1: Inside Ubuntu, open a terminal and input "sudo add-apt-repository ppa:terry.g...
