Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread

What's the output current rating/supply for the buzzer connector pads? Also, I assume the 5V pad can output whatever current the BECs are providing the board? So if I had 4 Afro ESCs (linear BEC with .5A) unaltered and plugged into the FC, there's a total of 2amps to consume, minus the Naze's 100mA ...

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread

Apologies- a bit off topic. Timecop, is there any marking on the Afro ESCs that denote which SimonK version has been flashed on it?

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread

What's the operating input voltage and current of the Naze32?

I used to cut power from all but 1 ESC...However I'm considering no longer doing that as I believe most of the ESCs I ever considering using have linear BECs.

Thanks

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread

Yeah, I understand the implications of the configuration but I've run this with slightly different setups with no problems. No heat issues, etc. It's for my "extreme" acro days. Thanks again

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread

Thanks for the specificity felixrising. That was going to be my next step after trying other props and running a few other tests. I'm using GemFan's 9047s. I've been talking to a few others who have experienced the same exact issues with Afro ESC 20/30A on 4S with various prop/motor configurations. ...

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread

Now I'm actually offended. Anyway, will be running some tests later to try and get to the bottom of this in hopes that I don't actually have to replace the Afro ESCs considering they complement the Naze32 nicely.

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread

Trollcop, Ah yes, forgot to mention they were SunnySky X2208 1500Kv at $18+/motor. Should've known better, but you know what- they're pretty good quality so I'll keep them. As for the Afro ESCs...hmm, will just toss those out. Your motors are too expensive. Upgrade to something that costs less than ...

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread

I'm having a syncing issue with Naze32 + Afro ESC 30A when running a 4S battery. I can see a red LED kick on for a brief second as the syncing issue occurs. The setup flies perfectly under 3S however. Could this be a Naze issue or is it likely Afro ESC not properly supporting 4S as HK states?

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread

What's the recommended way to solder wires onto the Afro power board? Wire through the holes from top or bottom, and then solder on both sides? Anyone have any pictures of how they prefer to do it? (Sorry a bit off topic but figured this was the best place to get answers from people with related exp...

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread

I also found this case: m One more thing- I understand the angle and horizon modes only use gyro and accel sensors. Can someone please confirm that the Acro Naze32 supports these flight modes? I imagine so, just looking for confirmation before I order a bunch of them. Is there any reason for the Acr...

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread

Set my min and max throttle to values according to Afro ESC manual. Baseflight Configurator is showing: All channels show around 994 at min, 2014 at max. Mid points show right around 1500 (1501, 1502, 1503) This seems to be slightly different than what I've read during my research, however it also s...

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread

Since I'm using Afro ESCs with Naze32, I don't need to calibrate the ESCs, right?

I can just set the following values:

minthrottle=1064
maxthrottle=1864

Correct?

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread

Thanks for the prompt reply. Just to confirm: 1. One Afro ESC will provide enough power to power the FC, as well as any other connected devices (RX, etc)? 2. Plugging all Afro ESCs, including their power wires, will be safe and not fry the board? 3. Connecting my battery (12+ volts) directly to the ...

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread

I've read that to receive battery voltage info to my D4R -> my Taranis, all I need to do is connect the VBAT pin to my battery. Is that correct? Is there a preferred way of doing this? What are some example methods? I appreciate the peace of mind. I don't want to fry the board. Trying to gain a clea...
