ytheleus: I don't even think you need capacitors. nFETs should survive that and motors be "inertial" enough. I respectfully note your opinion as I'm no expert when it comes to practical circuits, though my theory is OK. I don't know that caps are necessary or even useful, but someone else...

I do have a patch that was submitted to me for brushed motors. I should probably bring it back into life and add it as a feature. I think it would be worthwhile if you can spare the time please. If you're easily bored stop reading, because I'm going to explain why I think that. Using brushed motors...
