Yes, it's good beginning. But question is when messages has variable length. Also it's will be good to describe parameters units and their purpose.

Do you think to make and publish a common protocol specification.
I looked at a number of projects based on the multiwii protocol and saw some codes intersection.

Maybe I just have not found the document.
