Re: FS: Lots of Flight computers
Any of these useful to put in a glider just to dampen out roll and pitch turbulence?

This will reduce PID gains as the throttle rises, keeping the jitters away.
OK, trying that now then. Thanks!

Quad stable when slow, but ... jittery when fast?
Hi guys, I am finally entering the world of faster forward flight with my quad, but am finding that as I go faster, I get more wobble. Is this a PID setting issue? 1.png Those are my setting at the moment. I have a FlipFPV (Like, an H shaped thing) And here's an example of the wobble - more prominen...

Re: What makes Naza 'better' than Multiwii
To be honest, I'd say, with the people having problems that I see on the forums, maybe 20% have issues with the firmware update process... the rest battle with PID setting and understanding. I'd still say it comes down to that.

Re: What makes Naza 'better' than Multiwii
Yeah, it's highly possible it's not my Multiwii board... It's not the frame it's self, as others have amazing flight (using Naza and Multiwii). It's down to my lack of understanding of the PID settings, I believe, which is the area I was hoping could be improved as far as config goes. Also, I have h...

THANK YOU felixrising. That actually makes sense, and I see the issues. Kind of like android targeting hundreds of platforms, and iPhone having one. Thanks man.

Re: What makes Naza 'better' than Multiwii
I think it might be the right forum... it looks like it comes down to Software? And enough with the trolling accusations. I'm not a troll, nor am I bashing the multiwii.... Also, this thread is decaying into something it shouldn't. So, sorry if it's ruffling feathers. It wasn't meant to. I was just ...

Re: What makes Naza 'better' than Multiwii
Well, jef, you're half right, but maybe you nailed it with the statement, "poeple arent going to make it naza easy for you for free. If you want Naza features, go buy one." I'll now read between the lines. - It IS the software that makes the difference - People who battle with Multiwii, an...

Re: What makes Naza 'better' than Multiwii
Yeah, the response on here isn't what I expected. Saying that this is just an attempt to cause a "flamefest" is a bit disappointing. I have a Mutiwii, and am battling to get it stable. I see most Naza guys get it right straight away, and aren't doing AP. They're flying - hard! Saying "...

Re: What makes Naza 'better' than Multiwii
Not sure of your point. What's the question? I haven't said the multiwii is not capable. I'm asking why the Naza is perceived to be better, and people pay close to 5 times the price. My guess is still the complication, the PID settings ... And the increased success rate early on of the Naza. The PID...

Re: What makes Naza 'better' than Multiwii
Hang on ... you asked "Lets see someone do something besides some lame wobbly FPV or hovering with a Naza". I think I achieved that. Now you're asking something else. Is easier better? Yes, if it achieves the same goal.... and that video shows the Naza is capable. So, back to the topic. I'...

No, invalid.. that's a poor reply.. I'm trying to be constructive...

Totally invalidated your answers... Naza can do good things... and more than often, does.
I'm sure the Multiwii can do the same, hence why I want to stick with it .... but it's common knowledge that it's easier to get right.

Re: What makes Naza 'better' than Multiwii
That may be the reason, but it does seem people have more quicker success with the Naza. It just seems that it is easier to get your multi flying like you want - quicker. I think it comes own to the manual PID settings... which are tricky, and vague for us noobs... enough for me to scan ebay for a c...

Can the settings be updated while in the air? Or does the board reset quickly?
Just wondering, as my wife makes my changes when I land... but ... can I ask her to modify a value while in a hover?

Re: What makes Naza 'better' than Multiwii
Also, something I thought might be a good idea, for the awesome developers of the code for this board - Would an 'Auto Gain' setting not be an idea? The board could detect a wobble, from, say, too high a gain setting (P value?). Could it not automatically drop the gain until the wobble goes?

What makes Naza 'better' than Multiwii
Yes, topic is subjective, but what makes people spend $450 for a NAZA, instead of $90 for a Multiwii (both with GPS)? Same quality components, no? So, does it come down to software? It's the only thing I can think of. Naza is easier to setup... Away with the PID stuff, it seems... just simpler and e...

Re: MultiWii EZ-GUI
I was running the DEV code, just before the official 2.2 release. I updated the YAW Rate to '2', and Saved. And then I clicked 'Read' and it changed from '2', to '0.34'. Am I doing something wrong, or is there maybe an issue with the >2.1 firmware, and Multiwii EZ-GUI?

Re: Which mode to maiden on?
Can the PID values be changed while the quad is powered up? Or does it need a power down/power up in order for the new PID values to be 'live'?

Which mode to maiden on?
Hi all,
Which settings/mode would be most suitable for a maiden flight?
Level only? Would that attempt to keep the quad level on take off and hover?

CAMTRIG, but expect ARM
Hi guys, I have a Multiwii Pro ( http://witespyquad.gostorego.com/flight-controllers/multiwii-pro-2-0-flight-controller.html ), and have the DEV code on it. In this video, you will notice that when I arm the motors, using right rudder and lowest throttle (Mode2), the motors DO arm, but the UI shows ...
