Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread
The bootloader is stored is ROM - all you have to do is get access to the chip via the SWD ports or through an FTDI adapter to move the firmware.

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread
That's well beyond my ability to troubleshoot. Anytime I've had to flash a new chip (like if I was fixing a burned out one) I used the swd method and everything just worked. It's entirely possible there's a serious hardware problem with the stm32 but it takes some serious surgery to replace that. If...

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread
Divi, I actually had to do this once like a year ago so my memory is a little hazy. I've bricked a few STM32 boards in my time and the only recourse was to do a full chip erase and load the firmware onto the board via the serial wire debug port. The problem is you need some extra hardware to do it. ...

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread
Hey guys, I'm trying to upgrade my board and am having trouble sourcing the correct spi flash chip. Does anyone have the part number for that memory module? The issue is that the code is looking for a specific manufacturer ID 0x20 m Apparently 0x20 matches to ST Microelectronics m (page 8) ST Microe...

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread
Just a quick update.
Both boards spun up the micro quad, and I did a quick hover test to make sure it was stable which it is, so going to call this one a win.

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread
Was too excited to wait. Orange one's fixed too now. Pink took 3 hours, Orange took ~45 minutes. Everything appears to be working. I'm going to throw these in the micro quad this weekend and make sure the motors actually spin up - if everything works out these should be on their way back to you next...

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread
Not sure if pin1 stuff was a jab at something, the 10pin debug connector is standard Cortex-M Debug Port connector pinout: m Lol no jab (you get enough), I was thanking you for marking pin 1's clearly, some designs just assume it and they leave the markings off. The cortex debugger isn't something ...

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread
So some good news elmtree. I'm going to stop short of saying the pink one's fixed until I've had a chance to install it in a quad and verify motor outputs but the surgery was at least up to this point a success. * VCC trace as well as a GND trace blew up, so I had to scrape back the enamel and solde...

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread
I now know what was causing my problems. I had 2 different failsafes going at the same time. The receiver failsafe was set to nonsense values (as shown in the picture in the previous post) as i hadn't realised i'd set it accidentally in the past. The naze32 failsafe wasn't activating as it was seei...

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread
Timecop, Elmtree's boards are on their way to me and I was just thinking ahead regarding a few details. If I end up having to swap out the STM32s, the chips come blank from digikey which means no bootloader. I plan on using an STM32 Discovery board to interface with the chip via the SWD port and pus...

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread
If the defaults for afros are 800 steps, is there any justifiable benefit to moving to 990 steps? Or is that purely a matter of taste?

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread
So a way to avoid this would be to power the Naze before the OSD? Also, since minim is trash is there a better option for a light osd? Thanks I have a love/hate relationship with the board. I use it all on my rigs (because it's the cheapest option of the overlay boards out there - $12 come on!) The...

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread
The only difference was that the vbat wire was connected. I turned it on and it didn't work. I felt the STM and whaddya know... it's burning. What'd I do wrong so I don't make this mistake again? Everything seems like it should have worked. Elmtree - if you're willing to cover shipping I'd be happy...

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread
Hi. My original Naze has definitely been beat down. The receiver's ground and voltage lines are gone, but I got them reconnected. When the Naze is powered the STM gets hot, but the lights still function. When the receiver is connected and I try to arm the green light goes on and when I disarm it go...

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread
Hey guys... I searched this thread and THIS was the only post that came up talking about components 0:) , but I couldn't find what I was looking for. I was checking the datasheets for the the MPU6050, MS5611 and HMC5883L and I couldn't make out what these 3 components are. C1, C4, C6 in this image. ...

Re: Naze32 OSD
Can someone tell me some more about this OSD? I currently own a modded super simple osd for my quad but want a somewhat more intelligent osd for my bixler. The bixler is also updated with an rev5 naze board so the minimOSD looks as a true dream. But I cant figure out what the standard options are. ...
