Re: Baseflight aka multiwii port to stm32

Now that's sweet. Rob spent weeks debugging the fuck-up in your code and all you do is whine about the format ?
Some people ....

Re: Baseflight aka multiwii port to stm32

tnx TC, still in MW Naze32AIO is really cool, just what I'm looking for, next on my wish list is sbus, it's not possible to get cppm from futaba r2008 and i would like to access the other port's and I'm kind a stuck with futaba but if anybody know a small suitcase friendly 8ch cppm system I'm all e...

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread

Like TC said, you need to connect TX and RX so the init strings are sent to the MTK. Once you have this done, you plug power to the whole system. After everything is started, you have to REBOOT the Naze while everything is still powered on. Only way I know is to go through CLI, connect either via US...

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread

LeoWie - can please you tell me if the Crius CN-06 can be hooked up to 5V (ESC / receiver) or will I need to dig for 3V ?
Also at what gps_baudrate are you running it in your test ?

Thanks in advance

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread

Ok, here results of first flight test with Flytron MTK GPS working and active. Conditions fine, small breeze Attempt 1 (waited for full GPS fix with 7 satellites) Started in mode man -> fine as ever Switched to mode angle -> fine as ever, well trimmed Switched to GPS Hold -> nothing bad, quad is vis...

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread

Are you power-cycling the GPS during that time as well? GPS will be disabled if there's no valid nmea data within 1 second, I should probably increase that timeout, otherwise the sequence you describe makes no sense, enabling/disabling GPS has no effect on whether it will be found or not next time ...

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread

Next little problem - feature GPS not "remembered" Procedure as follows (feature GPS is set in CLI of course at the beginning) - Power up Naze - Connect to MultiWiiConf - Open COM - START -> GPS data is received, compass blinks, sats are counting up -> GPS BOX is NOT green, no GPS function...

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread

On certain occasions some whining is quite in order to help find bugs Have now successfully connected my Flytron MTK GPS module using gps_type = 2 and gps_baudrate = 57600, receiving data and fix in GUI Just to be very precise, in the meantime I had reflashed its firmware to 38400 / 5 Hz No chance t...

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread

MTK init sequences ARE sent with gps_type=2. I haven't tested if MTK3329 (that FMP04 module I got) accepts them or not, but according to the datasheet/protocol PDF, it should. May I suggest you do that test please, so we have facts Just an idea - you are using pin 3 and 4 for GPS right ? Could one ...

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread

I've got it connected to one of the esc bec - do I need to get it powered up before firing up the naze32? I'll give it a go tomorrow and check the tx/rx lines for continuity. Any other ideas as to other things to try would be much appreciated So there's three of us already, should be reason enough ...

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread

Make that two users errors. I have the same Flytron module (defaults are 9600 and 1 Hz, changed defaults cannot be stored - chip limitation). Only way to change would be to find firmware 115200/10 Hz that fits. Not a road I would want to go really. The module is designed to run on 5 V, tx and rx are...

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread

If you re-install the 115200 5hz firmware, you will get those settings installed, and also have opportunities to change the settings using Mini GPS. There are some firmware downloads on Eosbandi's gps site. I could probably to that. However I (and probably other MTK users) would much rather have th...

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread

OK, so does manually sending something like "$PMTK251,115200*1F" to your gps dongle witih usb>serial converter switch it to 115200 baud mode? If you're getting data at 9600, there are two possibilities: 1) tx signal to gps isn't working / connected correctly 2) those MTK init strings are ...

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread

And feature GPS is on, and you know that stable->r204 upgrade wipes settings, so you have to re-enable them again? If receive (serial) works there's no reason why a different module would cause it not to work. At this point your guess is as good as mine. I am aware that settings are wiped and have ...

Only difference is R204 vs. stable

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread

Cool stuff. I have a FGPMMOPA6 with the MT3329, capable of 115200 baud and 5Hz. Defaults are 9600 and 1Hz :-( and I don't feel like messing with the EPROM to change defaults, there seems to be a limit of some 5 writes allowed...

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread

Great news - will test it tomorrow. Though there is no auto-configuration, does the code send any MTK init-strings (set baudrate / set update-rate...) ?
Something like in
https://github.com/multiwii/multiwii-fi ... ed/GPS.ino ?
