...and with the new GPS V2 you do not need switch on-off anymore. It connects to multiwii ad soon as you power it on.

Just tried RTH and POS HOLD swapping new and old GPS on the same CRIUS AIO PRO. At first stage I haven't seen any significant advantage...but I was in an open area.
In house the new GPS fixes pretty soon while the old one not always fixes so easily.

Hi, in firmware v2.1 i got nice fix indication with sat >=5 by the status LED blinking (ser. NMEA GPS is installed). After testing r1177 and now r1232 this doesnt work anymore. Without this fix indication GPS is unuseable. With #define GPS_LED-INDICATOR uncommented in r1232 i get some compiler erro...

I'm currently using CN-06 GPS Receiver V1 (that does not have 25x25mm antenna) on a Multiwii CRIUS AIO Pro and works fine! V2 should work better...

I think that new Mahowik baro routines have made a great improvement in Alt Hold function. IMHO Alt-Hold + GPS Hold offer today a good stable mode that can guarantee an autonomous hovering for many many minutes. I refer to EOSBANDI's "ublox-hw-hacks" guide to connect a EEPROM to my NEO-6M GPS. After that I use U-Center to config the GPS to 57600 and 5Hz rate and then save the data to GPS. But all data will return to default configuration after power off the GPS. Anybody can help me to solve this ...

@PatrikE After "uber cool" mahowik's implementation of ALT. HOLD. I believe it is a shame to turn it off (ever) when AP_MODE kicks in so it is probably better to remove disabling f.BARO_MODE with AP_MODE in default code (or at least make it configurable in define.h). Regards Andrej AP_MOD...

yes... with default settings rth is too slow (3m/s) It is OK only for tests.

In gps.ino you can raise rth speed

Just curious, for minimum altitude during RTH would not the max altitude be sufficient (and safe)? I mean that it would be nice if you can define a specific altitude (i.e. 20 meters) where the multicopter should go before returning home. As long as BARO ALT Hold function is so weak I think it is useless to develop new functions (like waypoints or other). ACRO and LEVEL mode are great. CAREFREE is working fine. I love GPS Hold and RTH functions, they are really impressive ... but without a solid ALT Hold you can't do a real and secur...
