Did you found a solution? Seems I am having the same and am not able to find a solultion....

Everyone, who met the problem that i2c-gps blinks 1 second on - 1 second off, showing that no NMEA data is coming (while it is coming), please note - there is a bug in the software, which makes such blink signal happen when no-3dfix OR satellites < 5, instead of blinking when not receiving NMEA..
