I believe the question should be, just how much outside pressure is being applied by members of the FAA and other protesting entities to suspend development? There are bills in the US congress and similar bills in other countries making it harder for drone owners/builders.

The problem is, all of the locations and sizes are HARD coded but should be variables that can be manipulated based upon the system call for screen size. :(

Awesome, this is similar to the issues I had with my Raspiberry Pi port "size(windowsX,windowsY,OPENGL)". What is required is a total rewrite of the screen handling routines to accommodate various screen sizes. Lots of work and the real question, is it worth the effort?

I agree with your statement but was the code for the MPU-6000 ported? I personally looked at the APM code for the mpu-6000 and could not follow it.

Well, I think better is subjective. I think Multiwii is much easier to configure especially for a layperson.

There has been previous talk on this subject but few are willing to take on the task. I personally have not had the time but it is something I really would like to do.

I know this would be a VAST undertaking but it would be nice to have auto resizing of the screen. This would make it easy for the MultiwiiConf to run on other screens and even Tablets.

With all honesty, it is a mess. You have to get a special version of Processing and compile the GUI on the Raspberry PI.

Linux is the perfect example, look at the MANY favors such as Ubuntu, Debian, Redhat, openSUSE just to name a few. So again, there is nothing preventing anyone wanting to create their own distribution.

The above sensor is not laser, it is optical, works similar to an optical mouse.

However, the named device in the OP is not laser but ultrasonic. It has a laser pointer to aid in aiming the device at a target.

I have seen some pretty good demonstrations but all were under nine fleet. my personally testing with sonic measurement accuracy was best under six feet. In my opinion, ultrasonic would be a great addition for auto-landing but beyond that, it is useless for anything other than hovering between 6 to ...

The issue of connecting the Raspi serial to an Arduino, the Pi is 3.3 volts and the Arduino is 5 volts. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE this device, it is junk!! I ordered two back up ESCs and apparently, there is something wrong with the main motherboard. Burnt one of the ESC and a BRAND NEW Motor. Huge mistake made with this junk. Can not speak for the Hobbywing version.
