Huh, interesting. They took the Harakiri fork. Took the manual and rebranded it too. Buggers.

What makes Naza 'better' than Multiwii
Cralis, I have followed your build thread on RCG, so I know you're being sincere. However, it's awkward to compare a commercial product with an open source project on the open source forum. It's a difference of values. MW is about the experience of making it work and fly. DJI is about money - the fl...

Gesture of appreciation sent! I am very encouraged by your progress and hope you continue your good work! I removed an Eagle Tree OSD and a Dragon V2 OSD out of my two FPV multicopters to replace them with RCT minimOSDs running this firmware. One is on a Naze32/baseflight, the other on an AIO Pro1.0...

Moaning about the price of the board? Really? Man, are you in the wrong place. This is not a money-making business, it's a hobby. Don't ruin the fun by making it about money. The time put in by timecop and others in bringing this system to where it is today is truly immeasurable; couldn't put a pric...

KV needs pics of your exact board to verify if soldering has been done to bridge the video (which is powered via a regulator from 12vdc) and processing (powered at 5vdc via the ftdi connector) sides or not. If the halves are not bridged, you need to provide 12vdc via the video connector in order to ...

I use that exact BT board on my Naze32 rev 4 precisely as timecop has suggested above (no resistor). Works great.

Re: New AMA requirement- pilot must be able to deactivate
You would be right if that was what is actually in the policy. b) AMA pilots must be able to instantaneously deactivate programmed flight stabilization and autopilot systems at any time during flight and resume manual control of the model aircraft. The actual AMA policy wording: b) AMA pilots must b...

I don't read it that way at all. They are referring to the ability to deactivate autopilot navigation, not gyro stabilization.

Good job - I bet that put a smile on your face. Looked pretty good - better than mine at the moment (still tweaking). That looked like a calm day - how is it in wind? Getting it to work well in both conditions is tricky, I find.

GPS - Magnetic declination help
@luanlmd: MAG shouldn't make it "dance around", just maybe point in the wrong direction. Sounds like tuning to me. EOSBandi wrote a nice explanation of the GPS parameters. It's a good read.

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread
While looking into the magnetic declination question, I came across this nice (PDF) introduction into MWC GPS by EOSBandi. Although it's not really Naze32, it explains the GPS related MWC parameters and I thought I'd pass the link along to those of you experimenting with GPS. He includes a link to a...

Re: Naze32 hardware discussion thread
From the code, your format is correct (but you don't need the plus sign, only needed for negative). dddmm, and mm must be two digits. Also, the magnetic declination is used in the heading calculation when MAG is present. If the value is 0, it will use the raw data from the compass and it won't fly o...

Just FYI for those looking to flash the RC Timer 30A ESC with the simonk firmware. I am successfully flying the 6-01 tgy firmware which has the throttle calibration and bootloader support. The 6-10 version wouldn't work (tried on two ESCs without any motor starts). The power system is now noticeably...

Re: Has anyone ever used rctimer 30amp esc's?
I flashed my RC Timer 30A ESCs using simonk tgy.hex firmware. It went well. The odd thing is that the ESC that I thought was messed up now works. I don't trust it, but I have to see how it performs. Since I'm still testing and tweaking my quad, I'll install it and monitor it closely. It's time to sw...

Necessity is the mother of invention, so I'm certain someone will port it once there are few ESCs with Amtel. I also think that multi-rotor specific mass market ESCs are inevitable.

Chris, from the first RCG thread post (the poster is also flashing RC Timer 30A ESCs) 1- Go there: m 2- Hit the download button on the top right 3- Right click and save as the tgy.hex file from the bottom on the popup. There are newer versions posted from time to time. I used the tgy.hex one, but ne...

Besides the over zealous and misguided moderation, I find the massive threads for a single flight controller to be unusable. A flight controller and firmware warrant their own sub forum.
I am using RC Groups less and less as I move to open source systems. Still, the bulk of users are still on RCG.

I have 4 installed in a spider quad I scratch built. I<m using them with a FreeFlight 1.31 FC with the latest Baseflight running Turnigy 2813N motors. Last night one of the ESCs died mid flight and resulted in a crash. These are stock. Interesting about the PWM frequency. Does flashing help this at ...

I think that concentrating the 32-bit MWC topics on this forum is the best idea. I really find that the huge threads on RCG don't work for firmware/FC discussions. Plus, RC pilots and OpenSource developers don't necessarily relate well to each other. A lot of people in the R/C community don't get th...
