possible bug on tri mode? - FIXXED
hi guys, after a few months being familiar in quadcopter mode, I encountered a bug(?) in tricopter mode. im using CRIUS SE+ board, flashed with version 2.1. removed the props , gave full throttle, and turned OFF my transmitter. normally in quadcopter mode, motor/s would go OFF in about 3-4 seconds. ...

Re: tricopter yaw faster... faster... out of control.
hey had this experience too... but but not on the "rate" side.. I just upped the 'P' from stock to 10.0 on YAW..reason being the tri yawing sometimes to the left/or right in hover mode and in FFF. was in stable mode, flew it,went ok for a few seconds, then it "yawed" slowly out of...

Re: stable mode tuning
little nellie seems like you have reversed(?) your switch setting for ACRO and LEVEL mode. IMHO I can only 'rock' my sticks in LEVEL mode, and not in ACRO, or youll flip it out. setting too high a value for P will just make your quad "hard" to control, I have set mine somewhere around 3-4 ...

a basic question, what is your tail servo min/max throw values? in my tri, I have limited them a bit so that at extreme stick movements, the prop don't hit the ground. doing that, it would also 'sort of' lessen the YAW, but copter should not drop in altitude when YAWing.

Re: Drift problem in auto level mode
hi shikra if only hovering, I don't see any problems.. well, there is *very* small drift(even indoors a few feet up) , but that's just normal.unbalanced motors, balanced props, some vibes.. the only worst part to this is when your just way UP there, coupled with less accurate vision, and the copter s...

Re: Drift problem in auto level mode
ok, timecheck... im using v2 dev0522 I don't know if this STILL is a drift problem. just this week, I tried flying my quad in the field, after some seconds of continuous "rolling" maybe more than 6 seconds, it would FIX itself in that position, and crash!! no amount of counter-roll control...

Re: PID tuning, YAW
just found the answer to THIS QUESTION: after crashing my quad (very strange behaviour, and I thought the V2 dev was already stable in STABLE mode.....after a few seconds of "rolling", maybe 5 degrees??? it just went "un"controllable <tried counter-roll to no avail>, and behold, ...

Re: problem on motor speed
ok.
try this: adjust you pitch/roll I-D to ZERO (GUI)... and see if it helped... try "switching" from ACRO to STABLE mode in your TX if the 4 motor values are as close as possible to eacg other.. say 20-30 difference...

PID tuning, YAW
Hi guys, me again. another problem bothering me. I mostly fly my quad-X in STABLE mode. during small *adjustments* in YAW, the quad holds its altitude fine but when doing large *adjustments*, quad drops its altitude, so again I throttle UP to compensate. So instead of randomly replacing values in th...

THANKS im running on dev20120522.. after reading a few more forum posts, Ive come across lowering value for RCRATE down to 0.6 (was previously at 0.9) .. now it has mellowed down a bit .. will test soon on the open field cuz its most...

PID tuning, I-term question
hi, would it "harm" my quad if I set the ROLL/PITCH/LEVEL I-terms to zero(0) ? I mostly fly my quad-X in stable mode. and in a few minutes after flying in that mode, it becomes "loosely coupled" esp when there has been many *adjustments* of the roll/pitch stick(usually when its a...

hello again I just recently flashed to the latest dev, broken a prop at slow lift-off because of unbalanced speed (Clueless).. connected to GUI to monitor, and here is what I see... http://i46.tinypic.com/2qkhxm0.jpg m board is level, as shown in the GUI.. why are the FRONT_R and REAR_L different va...

@TS I have the same problem too.. my MWC is flashed with version 2... I start flying in STABLE mode.. all is well, trimmed in ACC so my quad wont drift.. the problem arises when I go higher (like 10-15feet) -OR- maybe after 2-3 minutes, does my quad ROLL TO THE LEFT, its like its been possesed .... ...

Crius multiwii (black) baro problem?
Hi guys, I have here a chinese crius multiwii se board. its for my quad-X. works nicely with some *slight* "bad" landings here and there. I never really had the chance of using the alt-hold function mainly because I was busy using the 'stable' mode. now IIRC, I DID see my baro "graphi...
