I am afraid the US paranoia with the recent local laws and their "war on terror" have superseded the original meaning. So I consider the phrase DRONE burnt ground. That would leave us with "RC aircraft" - not very catchy for a "show us your ..." site. Hi Hamburger, I c...

All the existed multi rotor software will become more intelligent. So the word "RC" will not describe what we play in the future.

Hi hexjump Thank you for your pm. You are absolutely right to point out that the flying gadgets do cover fixed wings as well, so "multirotors" would indeed be inappropriate. I have no real good suggestion for a name then - maybe start a competition for naming? I go by "rc toys which ...

Suggestion: avoid the word DRONE. Most of us fly rc gadgets, not some autonomous task fulfilling machines. Hi Hamburger, Thank you for your suggestion. We searched a lot before using this word. Special acrobatic mode by code
I'm thinking with my partner to add some code to realize many acrobatic movements. Everyone will be able to play easily and have no chance to crash his quad. We're adding some new acrobatic movements and searching an ergonomic way to activate them. Here's a video of the first outdoor test. What do y...

Re: auto levels, gyro, acc and magnetometer
The quad needs always GYRO to fly. You have no option to desactivate it. You can avtivate ACC if you want your quad keep staying there when you leave your hands off the sticks. That means the "autolevel". When you move yours sticks, the quad will fly under your control like there's no ACC....

Well I figured it out, in the GUI the three little boxes next to "ARM" were turned on, I turned them off and it worked. I also put MINCHECK = 1300 and MAXCHECK=1700 but I'm not sure if that helped or not. Yes it helps. You need a value under MINCHECK to arm your quad, but be careful if yo...

Re: how to set up baro on quadcopter
The wind effects depends on how you made your frame too. Foam or not, it's a simple question. Just have a try to make better choice. I think it's easy to compare. Turn on your quad and look at the diversification of the baro value in GUI or try flying it in the wind. You will see the difference betw...

So it is about your xbee setup. Those connect wit 5v gnd tx rx like your ftdi usb adapter? Same serial? I got why ! It's about my self made mega board.
